With offices throughout the province, the Canadian Mental Health Association - Ontario is a non-profit charity that "develops and provides public policy advice that promotes mental health and improves the lives of people living with mental illness."
The CMHA is currently looking for one (1) temporary, full-time Research Assistant to assist their research department throughout the summer.
The salary is $15/hr for 35 hours of work per week and the position is to commence as soon as possible.
The job essentially entails conducting research on a range of topics, and preparing research papers, educational materials and other written works.
Ideal candidates for the job will be post-secondary students with one to seven months of experience in a similar role.
INSIDER TIP: Even if you've never worked as a Research Assistant before, make sure you highlight the research and report writing that you've done for school. On your resume, list any databases or software you may be familiar with (e.g. Lexis, Factiva, etc.).
As well, candidates must have excellent written and oral communication, teamwork and collaboration and problem solving skills. Fluency in common computer programs (e.g. Windows, MS Office) is also ideal.
