We all know that one of the best things about summer is the chance to visit theme parks and take in the rides, the mayhem, and the overpriced popcorn and cotton candy. And if you love visiting theme parks and are still looking for a summer job, then why not consider working for one?
Not only do you gain valuable work experience that looks great on your resume, but you get some really nice perks - discounts on snacks and souvenirs, unlimited rides during your time off and passes for friends and family, among others.
And right now, you're in luck because Canada's Wonderlandis looking for staff in a number of areas!
Located in Vaughan (about 20 minutes north of Toronto), Canada's Wonderland is arguably the most famous theme park in all of Canada - and it's impossible to find someone in the GTA who hasn't visited Wonderland at least once in their life!
And since Wonderland is such a tourist attraction, there are plenty of opportunities in areas such as admissions, ride maintenance/operation, food servers and kitchen staff, cashiers, lifeguard, and retail staff.
The great thing is that they offer two different employment streams: for those available earlier (e.g. post-secondary students) full-time work can begin at the end of May; for those not available (e.g. high school students), you can work part-time until the end of June when school finishes. In both streams, you work full time for July and August before reverting to part-time during September and October. That's a solid 6 months of work experience that looks great on a resume!
In order to apply, you must be 15 years old, although some positions have other age requirements due to provincial legislation. And it's recommended that you read the supplemental employment information, which details things such as Wonderland's appearance standards, it's hiring process, and it's expectations of employees.
To apply, you must register and complete an online application form. And if you have any questions, contact Wonderland's Human Resources staff at 905 832 7401
