Do you enjoy working in retail?
Are you looking to gain valuable work experience during the holiday season?
If so, then consider working for Gap Inc., the company that owns and operates Gap, Old Navy, and Banana Republic stores across Canada and the US, as they are still looking to hire temporary staff to assist store management during the busy holiday season.
Most often, temporary staff are hired as either: 1) Sales Associates, who are responsible for providing outstanding service to customers; or 2) Stock Associates, who work with visual merchandising teams to ensure that the store has the right amount of stock on the floor and that it is presented in an appealing and eye-catching way.
Having worked for Gap Inc., specifically Gap Kids, a number of years ago, I can tell you that working for Gap Inc. not only offers students the chance to earn money during the holiday break, but it also provides an excellent opportunity to gain valuable work experience which could lead to more permanent employment with a Gap Inc. store after the holiday season.
Now, previously, you could apply directly to a Gap or Old Navy store directly by completing a paper application form and attaching a recent resume. However, both stores have since changed their hiring practices after implementing the Taleo system, which accepts and processes the applications. As such, you now have to complete an online application form and upload a targeted, keyword-heavy online resume.
A full listing of jobs available at Gap and Old Navy stores across Canada and the US can be found here.
However, if you would like to work specifically at a Banana Republic store, you cannot apply online. Instead, complete a paper application form and hand it, along with a tailored resume, in to Banana Republic store you would like to work at.
