Okay, so we'd all like a little surf, sand, and sun over the summer! But unless you can afford to spend all day lazing around a beach, you'll have to settle for working in a job that is somehow connected to the beach.
True, most people think that being a lifeguard is a perfect job - you get a great tan and you just have to sit there. Of course, that all changes in a time of crisis, but for the most part, it's a fairly relaxing job.
But the reality is that many lifeguard jobs have already been filled - even if they haven't, there are fairly strict job requirements that take years to obtain.
But nonetheless, if you want a job related to lifeguarding or aquatic programming and you live in the Halifax, NS area, you're in luck. Check out the job opportunities available with the Nova Scotia Lifeguard Service.
Right now, on their website, they have two positions still open:
Youth Development and Safety Officer
Public Relations Officer
In order to apply, you must download the application form, which you can find on the NSLS website.
Then mail the form, along with a resume and cover letter to:
Nova Scotia Lifeguard Service
14 Purcell's Cove Road
Halifax, Nova Scotia
Fax: (902) 477-6216
Make sure to note that applications for both positions are due by April 3, 2009. Successful applicants will be contacted via e-mail to set up a testing and interview date.
